How does PRP work?

Human blood contains essential and specific growth factors and aids in tissue regeneration and healing. PRP therapy contains special cells called platelets, which can theoretically lead to the growth of hair follicles. Special platelet cells promote healing by accelerating tissue regeneration, and form the formation of new cell growth. The main purpose of using PRP in hair restoration is to stimulate hair follicles from an inactive to an active growth phase.

How is PRP therapy performed?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is injected into the scalp. Then, the patient’s hair is washed and the patient can drive home unaided. The results depend on the individual characteristics of the body of each patient. There is no guarantee of 100% success in this form, however, according to the results of preliminary studies, there is a positive reaction to hair follicles after PRP therapy.

In general, PRP therapy enables patients to restore hair or stop hair loss without resorting to surgery. In our hair transplant center, PRP therapy is carried out as a procedure in the fight against hair loss, and as a strengthening method in hair transplantation.

If you are looking for a fast and economical way to restore your hair, our Hair FUE center offers PRP therapy that is ready to meet your needs. The number of necessary procedures is determined by a specialist and depends on the degree of baldness.

PRP therapy is used to restore hair and get natural results.

Using a thin needle, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is injected into the subcutaneous layer. Thus, the growth factors in the blood cells do their job, activating hair growth and stimulating natural development.

PRP therapy is carried out by collecting 20 cm of blood from the patient’s veins, after which the blood tube is rotated in a centrifuge at 1500 rpm for 6 minutes. The first centrifugation allows you to separate the blood into three layers, namely the lower RBC layer, the upper acellular layer and the intermediate PRP layer (5% of the total volume). The second centrifugation, rotates faster than the first, at 2500 rpm for 15 minutes. This allows platelets (PRP) to settle to the bottom of the tube. The top layer containing PPP is discarded and the bottom PRP plasma layer is filled into an insulin syringe containing calcium chloride (1 part calcium chloride and 9 parts PRP).

An hour before PRP therapy, an anesthetic cream is applied to the balding area. Using a disposable syringe, plasma is injected to the affected area (several small injections in a linear manner with a distance of one cm) in accordance with aseptic precautions. With intense hair loss, several sessions of PRP are necessary.

After several sessions of PRP, there is a significant reduction in hair loss. Experience has shown a moderate improvement in hair volume and quality. Overall, patient satisfaction scores high, rated 7/10. In PRP therapy, there are minimal side effects in the form of redness and slight bleeding at the time of injection.

Hair loss affects the psychological state of a person, which sometimes leads to a decrease in self-esteem and depression. Non-surgical treatment options for androgenetic alopecia are very limited and consist of drugs such as minoxidil and finasteride. However, these drugs have several side effects, such as headache and an increase in other body hair. The drug Finasteride also prevents the development of the genital organs in males and is contraindicated in pregnant women.

PRP therapy has already attracted attention in plastic, orthopedic and cardiac surgery for its ability to rejuvenate the skin and speed up healing.

After PRP therapy, there is a significant improvement in hair density and growth. The Hair FUE ® Hair Transplant Center is pleased to provide its patients with a range of techniques to combat baldness. Our services are affordable and long-term. Our clinic will provide a full return on your investment.
